Neighbours
As I was getting into my car to head off to rugby last night my neighbours collared me. They'd found Biscuit's collar (it's designed to come off if it gets snagged), it must have fell off in the week.
It turns out Biscuit's round there all the time. They even had the cheek to let her in their house one night whilst we were away as she was wet and looked hungry...
Firstly, we were only gone for the weekend and had a friend round there each day to top up their food and give them a stroke. Cats are independent animals and am sure they were pleased of the peace and quiet.
Secondly who do they think they are? Biscuit's on a diet so I imagine she would pester them for food, as she does with us every time we go into the kitchen. Does that mean they fed her?
Thirdly, it's her own stupid fault if she got wet as she must have been standing out in the rain.
In addition they asked about when the fence was getting fixed (part of it blew down a month ago). She didn't say it in a nice way (or that's how I interpreted it), she said it in a way to make sure we were getting it done. The handyman should finally be fixing it this weekend, I told her and she informed me that it was a long time...
At the time I didn't think much of it but in hindsight, there was more too it. Piss off! Their cards are marked...

Star Trek
I'm off to see the new Star Trek film tonight.
I wouldn't call myself a Star Trek fan but I do like Sci-fi and if it's as good as the reviews say it is then i'm in for a treat but you never know, I don't think i've seen a good one.

I haven't had an update through google reader this week which was odd as there's usually at least one per day so I thought he might be on holiday.
I've tried going to the site and it can't find the server.

Hopefully they'll be back up and running by the weekend.

Paint spray
In addition to me not having a great sleep last night, I also spilt over a can of paint onto the kitchen floor this morning!
Doh!
Luckily we managed to mop it all up.
What's going to happen next? I've got rugby later, maybe i'll break an ankle, or even worse Man Utd win the Champions League again...

Bloody cats!!!
I was rudely awoken last night by a high pitched squeak. Poppet had caught another frog!
I launched it into our next door neighbor's garden (the frog not the cat) so hopefully that'll be the last of them.

Killer cats
Our cats have been hunting again. Not only did we find a dead mouse under the bed on Saturday morning but Poppet has started to bring in fat juicy frogs! Yuk!
I managed to catch them and release them the first two times, but we were woken up at 4 this morning, this time it was dead. I assume it was the same stupid one.

Weekend
Last night was pretty good. I got home at around 6 and finally watched the Starwars cartoon, not that bad really. I then watched an episode of Firefly and then watched Shaft. The new one with Samuel L Jackson. Again, not as bad as I thought it'd be.
I was supposed to be heading to Bristol today to meet up with some old uni mates but my bed for the night fell through and hotels looked too expensive at such late notice. So i've decided to give it a miss. Shame as it would have been good to see a few of the guys. I'm sure we'll sort something out for later in the summer.
Instead we went for a drive in the country to pick up a sewing machine for April, we popped into a farm shop on the way back and bought loads of goodies. I've also washed the car, a bit of gardening and some cleaning. Just about enough time to have a nice hot bath before heading out into Tonbridge for some fancy Indian food.
Tomorrow, i'll head back up to Corby to see Ross, watch the footy and have some beers.
Monday, I may have a mixed roast. Chicken, beef, pork and lamb! Hmm, all the food groups.

Touch rugby
I joined a mixed touch rugby side last night and it was good fun. Most of the guys are from my normal team so it's good to see them. I'm surprisingly fitter than I thought.
There are some annoying rules though, you're not allowed to pass out of the tackle and you only need to touch with one hand, which can be anywhere, within reason of course as we're also playing with girls...
Some of them are surprisingly good.
I should be playing every Wednesday, that's if James doesn't corrupt me like he did last week.

Happy birthday Laptop
It's the 2nd birthday of my laptop today. It cost the best part of a thousand pounds when I bought it and it still plays Football Manager like a dream. Unfortunately it's a bit battered now, some of the keys are sticky (cat spilling juice incident) and I get the blue screen of death every couple of weeks.
It's days are numbered, however it's still got 1 year left before I can justify getting a new one.
Another anniversary is also due soon (Saturday), it'll be one year in Tonbridge in our house! The time has flown by.

Night at the Museum (of Curiosity) 2
Last night was really good. I went to see another Museum of Curiosity get recorded. This weeks guests were Tim Minchin, Philip Pullman and Clive James. Very funny, but it was a late one. We probably didn't get in till around 12. But that did include a stop off at the kebab shop for some chips.
The highlight for me was the fact that they still hadn't replaced the Chris Moyles photo, it still had TWAT written across his forehead. He, he!

Bristol
I'm off to Bristol on Saturday, I was there a couple of weeks back to see my mate John but this time it's to meet up with an ex house mate and a few old friends. Should be good fun, we meet up two or three times a year but it'll be the first time we've been back in Bristol together since leaving back in 2002, so it'll be especially special...
As luck would have it, it's going to rain, but it's not Bristol unless it rains.

Lunch today
I met up for lunch with Tim today, he's down in London visiting friends so we met up for a quick beer or two and a bite to eat. We ended up going to S&M (Sausage and Mash) before heading to the smallest pub (that I know of) in the city. All good fun.

Museum of Curiosity recording 2
I'm back for more punishment tomorrow. We like the show so much we're off again but this time with an old flat mate and her husband. Should be good.
Spain
We flew back to England last night after another great weekend away in Spain. My friend's parent's apartment is great. It's like you're more or less staying in a fancy hotel without the room service, although our lovely girlfriends did keep us refreshed each night with a constant flow of beer whilst sitting in the hot tub...
We flew there on Thursday morning and met up with my friend from Uni and his wife, they were there a few hours before us so managed to hire us a 7 seater Volkswagen for the weekend. I brought my sat nav but it didn't know the address of the flat so almost pointless but I printed a handful of maps so after a little to and throwing we made it to the apartment. We stopped off at a huge supermarket on the way to pick up supplies (beer and meat).
The first thing we did when we arrived was turn on the hot tub and cracked open some beers. this is the life. We then stoked up the bbq and chilled out. The hot tub took longer than expected to warm up but being brits we sat in it anyway.
Friday, we went for a little swim, then headed into Puerto Banus to look at some fancy cars, shops and even fancier yachts. We then went to the beach for a bit of a swim and some sun bathing. We then went back to the flat for some more beer, bbq and hot tub action.
On Saturday we had 45 mins on the driving range (i'm still sore now), followed by lunch at the pool, followed by trip into town again and then watched some football. We then went to a pirate ship themed bar for cocktails before heading back to the apartment for pizza, more beer and more hot tub.
We went on the driving range again on Sunday morning, we had lunch at the pool again then had to drive back to the airport.
In all it was a really chilled weekend and I have no doubt i'll be going again, that is if Peter lets us...

I'm off to sunny Spain tomorrow
I cannot bloody wait!
London weather over the next 5 days = wet, grey and windy
Puerto Banus weather over the next 5 days = 24 degrees and sunny
Just about right for a ginger although we'll still have to slap on some factor 30!

Either I need to change shirt shop or I need to blunt my elbows
I've just noticed that another one of my work shirts has a bloody hole in on the elbow. I think the previous one was Austin Reed too. I've got a load of cheap M&S ones and I don't think they've ever worn through.

More idiot bankers
I went to a Barclay's cashpoint last night to get some money (what else would I be doing there) and the damn thing nicked my card! I tried putting in my pin but nothing happened. I mashed lots of keys including the return card key and still nothing happened. Then a message popped up asking me if I wanted to have my card returned so I mashed more buttons then the whole thing rebooted and was left with an old windows NT screen saver floating around the screen.
Bloody thing! I phoned my bank up and I should have a replacement by Wednesday. Good job, as i''m off to Spain on Thursday!

Idiot bankers
I paid off my graduate loan last week, so cancelled my direct debit and thought that was the end of it.
Firstly, I received a letter telling me that I had cancelled my direct debit and that I had to recreated it.
Secondly, when I checked my accounts this morning they actually owed me money! Idiots! They had carried on with the direct debit anyway despite me cancelling it and more importantly had already paid off all my debt!
I called them up to sort it out and it's all fine, but they won't be refunding me till the 14! Bloody money grabbing gits!
One life gone bank. 2 more and i'll change.

Tired after Poland
I went on a stag weekend in Krakow on Friday, I think i've just about recovered. It was good fun though and is actually quite a nice city to boot. There were 17 of us in total, all dressed up in twattish golfing attire. It makes you proud doesn't it? The highlight for me was falling asleep for 7 hours on the first night. I went upstairs to my room to get changed so thought i'd just have a little rest before heading out on the beers again. Next thing I know it was 3 in the morning! Oops! Probably the best thing that could have happened to me, I was right as rain the next day, in all I had 12 hours kip, I haven't managed that for years.
