Films
I've seen a few decent films recently so here is what I thought.
The Road
A grim post apocoliptic tale released at a similar time to The Book of Ely. A dad travels to the warmer south with hi son sturuggling to survive, finding food and not getting eaten by cannibles. There are some grusome scenes and at times thier plight seems pointless. It's quite a good film although hardly one to put you in a good mood. If you ignore the religious elements I still prefered The Book of Ely.

SC Rating: 70 / 100 (1 votes)

Four Lions
5 northern muslims plot to blow themselves up as martyres, unfortunatley they're all halfwits and let the comdey begin. It's a good film with loads of laugh out loud moments, but it also has some very serious undertones and towards the end is very sad.
IMdb Rating: 8.2 /10 (1349 votes)
SC Rating: 72 / 100 (1 votes)
Ap Rating: 8.2 /10 (1 votes)

Looking for something to do
April's rehearsing all weekend again (apart from Saturday) so I'm stuck for things to do. England are playing Japan at football on Sunday but that's only for a couple of hours.
Yet another beer festival
This time it's the Greenwich Beer and Jazz festival. The weather's looking crap on Saturday though so I may have to stay in the beer tent. Shame...
Not great news
Just over a week after one of my best friends had his first child, he has just gone and had a serious motorbike accident.
He's alive but has broken many bones and nearly lost his leg. He's had to have another emergency operation to save it.
I'm going to go and visit him next week, but I'm not looking forward to it, I remember what it was like after Ross's car crash.
Fingers crossed.

Back to a normal compliment of cats
Just got back home and both cats are back. Phew! They didn't like it when Ted was here, I don't think they slept in the house. Poor things.
This morning after Ted left only one cat (Poppet) ventured back into the house. Thankfully there are two now although I think they're still in a mood with me. I don't think Ted will be invited back again.

Lack of sleep
Something woke me up at about 4 this morning! Bloody thing, it was making a right racket. I don't think it was James' dog who stayed over as it sounded like coming from outside.
Let's hope the cats aren't too annoyed with us for letting Ted stay over.

Bbq overdose
We're making the most of the lovely weather. We've already had two bbqs already this weekend round other peoples houses. We're having another round ours tonight.

If you pay bananas, what do you get?
Apparently my company has eaten 26,000 bananas over the past year. 250 people in total, perhaps 200 in the UK.
He's back
Back from Spain in one piece. Sadly no free days off work due to the ash. The cats'll be pleased as they'll get fed. Just kidding, we've had friends and family round to take care of that. Work's super busy though. Boo!

Spain's lovely and warm
Flights have been disrupted in and out of England for the last couple of days. Fingers crossed we'll be stuck here drinking cold beer on a sunny balcony till the end of the week. My boss set the precedent a few weeks back and managed to get an extra week.

Off to Spain on Saturday
We're staying at a friends paren'ts place in Puerto Banus. The weather's looking great. Exactly what we both need.
Touch rugby result
April played touch rugby for the first time last night and we won 9-6, an exhibition of stylish rugby...
Verdict: We both need to get fitter. I'm still wheezing now and I don't even have asthma. Rolling subs are a god send.

They will not keep me quiet
The fascists at my work have blocked blogging but they will not silence my words. I'm getting a new phone tomorrow (HTC Desire) so hopefully after a month or two i'll work out how to use it and be able to update on the go. How 21st century am I?

Beginners luck?
I showed April how to play bar billiards last night and surprise surprise she beat me.
1,000+ to 350ish
Was it luck though? Or was it something Australians have in their genes? At 1am this morning Neil Robertson was crowned snooker’s world champion.

I think I’ll just put it down to me being crap.

Bored, bored, bored
April's been studying for the passed two days, I am am going crazy with boredom. Yawn. I've played a fair bit of FM, got pretty far on Fallout 3 (first time I turned the box on in 3 months) and it's just crashed on me when I was following a big robot about trying not to get shot. That's about it. Roll on September when the rugby season starts up again.
