More lazy cats

She doesn't care where she sleeps.

Lazy girl

Biscuit lazing around on our new kitchen table.

Lobster's revenge

I went to Sankey's  (Tunbridge Wells) with April last night and managed to make myself bleed whilst trying to pull apart a lobster claw. Ouch! Bloody think.it was tasty though so kind of worth it.

When I retire

I want to live in a Lional Blair retirement home

Good deed for the day

I parked my car next to the recycling bins in Tonbridge and an old chap walked over and asked for some help.
His car battery was flat and needed a jump start. I wasn't busy so offered to help. Only problem was we didn't really know what we were doing... A few sparks later and a passer by offered to help us. He switched them round, I revved my car, he turned his key, his car started.
It's the second time I've offered to help start a car. I remember about 15 years ago I was walking to the Knights Lodge with Shaheen and a group of women were trying to jump start one of thier cars.

They asked for our help and we thought.  How hard can it be?  It was.  We produced more sparks.  Oops.

Kitchen cleared... nearly

Only another two weeks or so left to go.

Photos from the gig last night

April's charity's gig last night was really good fun. Some great bands in a really good venue.

Where's Poppet?

Poppet snuck into the spare bedroom last night. Can you spot her? She would have been hidden of not for those demon eyes.

Winchester Beer Festival

The walk to work

Yesterday's walk to work. Not sure if you could play rugby in that visibility. You're supposed to be able to see the posts from the halfway line.

Not that you would want to mind.  I mean, the concrete's pretty hard and I don't fancy playing up that hill.

I don't like the Guardian

It's getting worse

... At least the beer will be cold.

I hope I don't get snowed in

Leaving Waterloo, the snow is picking up.

7.9kg

Of cash! I think there's £400+ inn there.

Turning to rain now

But it bloody snowed again last night!

Finally a holiday to look forward to

We've finally booked some proper time off work. We haven't been away since Cancun early last November.
We've booked early May for a week then again for two weeks at the end of August with the view to perhaps taking another two weeks of at the end of the year with a slight overlap into 2014's allocation.
Nothing planned yet, but maybe a trip into Europe in May for some pre Sumner sun, then possibly drive to France and Italy in August followed by the Far East again finishing of in Australia in the new year.
Now to find the money to pay for it... I reckon I've got over £400 in my change pot so that's a start.

Is that cheating?

Listening to Planet Rock on the radio, more specifically Alice Cooper on his evening show. Is it cheating by putting on one of your own songs?

Poison. Great song though.

Where else am I supposed to put them?

Warning

The next post is not for the faint hearted.

Negative binomial distribution

Getting fed up at work more and more now. I've got a big deadline next week and am stuck working out what negative binomials are doing to our model. I thought we had a development team for that.
It's not my job and it's wasting my time. I'm busy doing this when I should be working on my main work. All this means is i'll be running up to a tight deadline next week. Guess who'll get the blame if it's wrong.

Finally got round to watching

One flew over the cuckoos best. I bought it fairly cheaply in an hmv saddle years ago but had never gotten round to watching it till now. Very good film indeed. Hard to watch in bits but very funny for most of it.

Quiet week for me this week

Although this weekends activities weren't massive I do feel tired. I've not much planned this week, just a few drinks with ex–Lloyd's colleagues on Wednesday so want to try and keep it that way. Saturday should be fairly hefty. I'm of to Winchester for the beer festival. I'm going to get the train there and back so won't be total carnage but I am getting old so will need my Sunday for rest.

Good weekend

Kris and Ian popped down to mine for the weekend whilst April was off to Paris to watch the rugby with friends. It was a good laugh and I got to play 4 new board games. A bit geeky I know, but we had fun. Cheers guys!

Good gig, nice small venue

Band night tonight

I'm off to see Republica tonight with Shaheen, Kate and April. Should be fun.

They're taking over the world

I went to a lecture on robots by Oxford university earlier. Very interesting indeed.

Yeah, snow!

Commute's going to be fun

Bloody Royal Mail and or Amazon

My Game of Thrones blu-ray turned up soaking wet but sealed in a plastic bag. Great. Luckily it was sealed in cellophane. It must have been left out in the rain or snow or more likely in a bath.

It had better work, although as Steve said I've already got a copy of it from Kris.

The Arrow

I've been watching a big back log of the Arrow recently. Not bad. It started off fairly slowly but it's really picked up. It's pretty much Batman in series form but the main guy can kill people.

It's even got John Barrowman in it!

Wow, another win

Another win for Liverpool earlier, phew. It wasn't the easiest of games but a great win none the less.

Now to convince Steve to record them for me.

Much better

I'm feeling much better today but still coughing and sneezing so am not going into work. Hopefully I'll be fine by the weekend.

Although I've felt terrible these past few days, one benefit has been that I've lost a lot of weight. Don't worry, there's still plenty of Stu to go around... I have lost nearly 4kg. That's over half a stone! Down to 92kg now, or 14 stone 7 pounds.
