Enders Game: Rubbish

April's gig

Good turn out for The Swallow's latest gig. Thanks for coming!

Stolen

Some fcuker has stolen my umbrella, I left it semi hidden in our locker room at work over the weekend and some tw@t has pinched it.

I've emailed reception to put a company wide message out stating that it was a birthday present (it wasn't, although may be a good Christmas present if anyone's feeling generous) in the hope that someone has a conscience.

Dweeb day

I had the guys round on Sunday before April's gig and we played loads of board games. April even joined in with a couple.

Pandemic
Descent (pictured)
Battlestar Galactica
Cards against Humanity UK edition (not strictly a board game)

Yes, I am a geek. Not a dweeb though!

Doh. The fickle hand of fate

Managed to get a free day off work yesterday due to the storm but missed out on Richard Herring interviewing Simon Pegg at the Leicester Square Theatre.

There were no trains till gone midday and didn't want to risk the inevitable delays getting in and out of London. Usually i'd have been able to work from home but the gods had expired against me as our broadband was playing up along with me leaving my security fob at work meant I had a free day.

I was on a waiting list for returned tickets (I imagine many people were struggling to get in like me) and they notified me that they had some spare.

I guess I'll just have to buy the videos.

Poor Poppet

April put some strawberry laces on Poppet. Poor thing.

8 days left

8 work days left to go at Kiln.

Pigeon Street

Or pigeon pub in this case. A grotty pub in the city that I semi frequent has it's own pigeon.

On the plus side, I get 20% off.

I can see you

Biscuit getting a cats eye view.  Stupid cat.

What we pay our council tax for

Got this through the post because we left a kitchen cabinet door by our bin to get collected  during collection day. There was plenty of room in the bin but it didn't fit.

Lazy bastards.

I've now snapped it in half so they will have to collect it now.

Sunday dinner

Garlic and rosemary lamb with new potatoes, curly kale and cauliflower cheese.

Yum.

Test

I got my phone back yesterday. Seems to be working. Now to set out up how I like it.

The courier firm used was good. You could track it's progress on Google maps. At 9 in the morning it was 5 mins walk from me but the driver was on parcel 13 / 104. He then proceeded to drive round and round the city no more than a mile from my office teasing me.

Phone's despatched

Due tomorrow!  Yeah!

14 work days left

Not that I'm counting.

Bored doesn't even half describe how I feel right now

I'm really not interested in the work I've been given. I was progressing fairly well but have now found a reoccurring error. Can't bloody get rid of it.

According to my insurer

My phone has been fixed and ready for dispatch.  That's not bad as within a day they've managed to fix it.

My major doubt is how have they 'fixed' it so quickly?

I'll guess i'll find out in a day or two when I pick it up.

In other WiFi news, i've managed to get the guest wifi access at work.

Most annoying

I think the most annoying thing about not having my phone is the fact that they'll probably erase it's memory and I'll loose my progress on Candy Crush! Level 132.

Incommunicado

My phone's off to get repaired again. Wifi doesn't seen to be working as good as it should. I've got a cheapo Nokia for just the occasion but that doesn't seem to work either.

Email me if you need anything.

If all goes to plan I'll get my phone back by the weekend.

Australia zoo!

We're off to Australia zoo next year.  Woo hoo!  I've always wanted to go and now we get the chance.  We're off visiting April's Dad up in Brisbane / Gold Coast next February then we're driving all the way back down to Sydney stopping off at the zoo along the way before flying home.

Can't wait.  You can even take a wombat for a walk.

90% 40

Chatting to my brother this morning and we worked out that he was 90.25% 40.  Jeez.  We are getting old.  I'm not too much further behind in at 85.31%.

First trip to an imax

Going to see Through the Never on Sunday with Shaheen and April at the imax in Waterloo.  I've not been to one before so looking forward to it. Before that though we're off to Hawksmoor. Can't wait for that too.

The Mountain Goats

Again... Great venue, the Union Chapel, Islington. It's a working church that also puts on gigs. Major downside is you're not allowed alcohol in the main churchy bit. It does have a bar though.

The picture that says 1,000 words

Stopped off at the Hope and Anchor and the Famous Cock before heading to the Mountain Goats.

Present for Stu

Or do I have to buy some myself?

The wait is over

Don't worry, I'm not pregnant (as Shaheen thought we could be due to my post on Friday).

I handed my notice in this morning, I'm moving to a similar company doing a similar role but for more money.

I've not enjoyed the last year or so, so very pleased to be moving on and getting a fresh start.

Now to work out my notice period.

64-0

What a difference a player makes...

We beat Canterbury yesterday 64 points to nil. Had a pretty good game too. Still didn't score though. I never score. Boo!

I found a pound

On my way round to the train station this morning.

Wednesday, 2 October 2013

Spooky

Walking home from coming 3rd in our local pub quiz got a little spooky with all the fog.

3rd's not bad with just the 3 of us.

£381 bagged

I bagged most of that money from my change pot. Now to cart it into work. To get changed to cold hard cash.

Not a bad savings scheme  with interest rates the way they are at the moment. If I average it out, I reckon up to a grand per year.

Change pot

£394.83. Not all baggable but still not bad.

There was one

Then there were two. Not sure if Poppet thought it was that much fun though. Biscuit nearly sat on her.
