Spotted this

We went to a new Thai restaurant that opened up nearby last night but on the way we spotted this. The photo's not great  but the window display in our local off licence had a giant wooden rhino in it.

I was about to walk in and make them an offer till I spotted the sign telling me it was not for sale.

I can only assume that someone does exactly that.  Hence the sign.

Me... I've attached the skull.  I'd like to get rid of a bit of the screw and find a permanent way to attach the battery pack and switch but I think it looks great.

Whoops

I dropped a roll of roof felt on my shed floor yesterday. I might need to get the boys round for another Sunday session.

Green is best

I've got a blue and a white set too but think green is best. I've still got to find a new way to attach it though as the previous / easiest way cracked it. April has some ideas though.

Good start to the day

Cat wakes me up at 5:30. Train is delayed by 30 minutes. Lloyd's has no power so had to walk up 10 flights of stairs.

Just had some good news at work which was nice to hear.  I can't really talk about it here at the minute but may do at a later date.

Nearly there

April's done a wonderful job of our bedroom, a few bits left to finish off and with any luck we'll be in at some point over the weekend.

Nobody died

I had 5 friends over on Sunday to help me replace the felt on my shed roof.  On closer inspection no replacement was needed. Just a few tacks to get re-hammered in. We also replaced a window.

Success!

I also acquired a table football table for free.

The trophy surprisingly fits together however just as I thought all was good I heard a couple of cracks. Yikes.  I think it's okay but must now think about another attachment solutions.  Silk waiting for the led lights.

Finally

Finally got my bonus letter today. 10 days before pay day. It was starting to feel a bit like National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and the jelly of the month club. I was getting ready to call my uncle Eddie to sort it out.

Fairly pleased with the bonus in the end plus I got a small pay rise so can't really complain.

Oh well

0-2 down after the first 10 mins.  We need 3 now. Boo!

Wow! An actual use for my weather spreadsheet!

A friend e-mailed me this morning and asked if I still kept my weather spreadsheet up to date.  I replied with the affirmative.  11.73 years to be precise.  He works in the same building as me and wants to do a piece of analysis on temperature vs how many people come into the building.

He's almost as sad as me.

First play of Firefly Fluxx and I won! It's pretty similar to Star Fluxx which I think is the best so very pleased.

To cut a long story short (i'm hearing it second hand)

An American friend of mine was in a meeting at work and somebody used the term 'brucey bonus'.  There was much hilarity in the office when she had to google it and came up with the urban dictionary version (I'd not heard this before).  The person in the team meant the Bruce Forsyth one.  Whilst googling what it meant she looked at images and to her surprise she saw a picture of me.  This is the post.

Bedroom ceiling

We've got work men round at the moment, they're replacing the ceiling and replastering the walls. They've made a right mess.  Hopefully they'll be done in a couple of days.

What could possibly go wrong???

Next weekend i've got 6 friends coming over to help me re-felt my shed / pub roof.  It's been leaking a touch since we moved in so am finally getting round to it.  I'm providing beer and bbq, they're providing DIY expertise and general labour.  We're also going to attempt to replace one of the windows and block up a cat flap.  

Hurt my hand again

Hurt my hand again on Saturday but we won 50 points to 5. It was only 12-5 at half time.

It confirmed our 2nd place though which I think means we have a choice on whether to get promoted or not.

After massive delays and extremely poor communication Cat Tower has finally arrived.

Not had a chance to play it yet but may need to watch a YouTube video as there's not much in the instructions.  Biscuit dosen't look that interested.

Hmm... It looks like our house wants to stay in Europe

The out supporters were out in force on the high street this Saturday.  Our house has decided to hit back. That'll show them. More importantly April's been doing her own Better In campaigning with her local greens.

Who's the best?

I'm one of 3 players in line for the prestigious Tonbridge Juddians 4th team player of the year.

I was sent a text to ask who i'd vote for where I quickly replied back with myself, I was then notified that I wasn't allowed to vote for myself.

I didn't know who one of the players were (the beauty of 4th team rugby), and the other player played his last game ever this season so I voted for him.  He was also the young captain's son.

I'm not available for the end of season dinner though as am off to Brussels for a stag do.
