Not impressed

Went to a friend's champagne and cheese party on Monday. It was good fun, but their cat Jammers wasn't impressed.

We went to Tunbridge Wells on Sunday for Unfest. It's an independent music festival put on by a handful of local pubs and venues.

Heard a racket coming from the kitchen on Sunday to find Biscuit and one of our neighbour's cats having a standoff.

It can't get in as we have a microchip reading cat flap.

Another healthy meal whilst April's away

This time beef short ribs. They'd been cooking for 7 hours where they fell off the bone. I then crisped them up in the oven.

Didn't last long

I bought a squeaky got for a friend's new puppy. Between his two dogs fighting over it, I reckon it lasted less then 5 minutes.

Now to convince April to put it up in the bedroom.

Memory issues

I've started watching The Mentalist on the way into work and it turns out i've watched it before... or at least some of it.

I was half way through the second episode and saw Cam from Modern Family in it.

I knew I'd seen the episode before.  Is it my memory or was the show just shit?

Champagne tasting, don't you know

April found a champagne tasting event in Canary Wharf last week so we booked tickets for Tuesday. Great night although too much fizz in one go. 

Oz Clarke and Olly Smith were there.  Two of my favourite TV personalities.

Introducing Billions

I went to a friend's leaving drinks last night over in Tunbridge Wells. It turned out to be quite a messy affair. This is a lovely French Bulldog called Billions that we acquired...

Only 11 days left now

Urgh.

12 days and counting

We're off to Italy in a couple of weeks, only 12 days left of work before being off for 8.

Can't wait.

We're flying to Rome then travelling Sorento before heading to Naples and flying home.

I really can't wait.

This is me

For approximately 21 days a month. 40-50 minutes each way on my commute between Tonbridge and London.  It's not too bad as I watch films and rattle through tv shows on my tablet but there must be something better I can do.

Who reviews a church?

I'm off to a friend's wedding this weekend so thought i'd check out where the church was and how long it would take to drive.  The church had a star rating!  Who would do that?  And who would not give it 5 stars (just in case...)?

Thoughts from the hot tub

It's 2:40 in my brother's hot tub and I'm the last one standing /sitting.

Just had a lovely night with my little niece and nephew followed by a fair chunk of euro vision, ending in the second hot tub dip of the night.

I think I should go to bed...

Escape room

My team did an escape room last night after work.  Pretty good fun really.  We managed to escape but only with about 2 minutes spare.  Now that i've done one I think I'd do a lot better on the next as I now know the frame of mind you have to be in to get the hang of the style of puzzles on offer.

Brussels stag

We went to Brussels for my friend James' Stag, it was quite a strange one,  probably only saw him for 1 hour.

We were on a different train and stayed in a different hotel than the main group but eventually caught up with them for a drink.  We left to get changed for the evening with a time and a place to meet up but the best man changed the meet time by over 2 hours. Ridiculous.

We saw  a few of them in the restaurant a bit later but by that time they were hammered so just did our own thing.

Doh!

Perfect weather for a bbq

Seeing as the weather was so good on Thursday we decided to have friends round for a bbq.

New game arrived

It's actually the second one I've received. Amazon delivered the parcel to my next door neighbour but failed to tell me so I complained.  They apologised and sent a new one.  My neighbour then delivered the original parcel. FFS, now I've got to organise sending it back.

Biddenden vineyard

We went for a spot of lunch at Chapel Down vineyard (very good food), were about to pop into their wine shop to spend a lot of money on wine but saw that they'd shut for a stock take 5 minutes before!

Luckily there's another vineyard less than 5 minutes away that we like so went there instead.
