Lucky weekend

I won the lottery 3 times over the weekend. Twice on the euromillions,  once on the lotto.
3 matched won me £7.10 Euromillions
2 matched + lucky star won me £4.60 Euromillions
3 matched won me £25 on the lotto
My goal however is to win over a million pounds.

April's been roped into hosting a baby shower

I was getting kicked out of the house, luckily I've got a game now so out of the house anyway. The light fittings and beer are there for my rugby mate who's replacing some lights for us.

Gaming?

I can nolonger access my blog at work. It's been classified as a gaming site. Ridiculous. I can still access it by using the company wifi though.

It's bloody windy in the city today

When in the corridors by the toilets you can feel the wind blowing through the building.  When it's properly gusting you can hear it too.  Glad I don't work on one of the new tall buildings.  I think i'd be sick with the swaying.

Hopefully the route home is fine too.

Puppy McPuppy Face?

One of my company's nominated charities is Guide Dogs for the Blind, we now have a competition with the chance to name one of the dogs.

Shall I suggest Puppy McPuppy Face, or is that a little too obvious?

In other dog related news, some Tonbridge based friends of ours have a new puppy too.  I think it was a close call between my suggestion of Michonne and the final choice of Bellatrix.

What a player

What a guy. Here's some photos of me from last Saturday's game against Dover 2s.

Only 6 to go

I gave blood for the 44th time this morning and cashed in with a whopping 3 pack of bourbon creams and a packet of cheese and onion crisps.  I bet the others in my office are dead jealous.

First run of the year

Everyone else in Tonbridge appears to be taking photos of the swans when out and about so thought I'd get in on the action. This was taken on the way home during my run.

Not the fastest, but felt good to get out.

I scored on Saturday!

I've been playing for Tonbridge Juddians RFC since I first moved to Tonbridge back in May 2008.  After a month or two of settling in it was one of the first few things I did.  I joined the local rugby club.  They were a decent bunch of lads, playing at a reasonable standard and I wasn't expected to train.

Now at the grand old age of 37 and a half my captain / coach for the vast majority of that time said last Saturday's game was the best he's ever seen me play.  Ha.

I'm now playing at a level 2 leagues higher than when I started playing for TJs, and I think i've been training less than 10 times in the 8 + years since I joined..  Being a team player I think i'll put it all down to all of the players around me that are dragging me along and making me up my game.

We're now top of the league (with a game in hand) with only 5 games left to play.

2 more home games left next, then 3 away.  The league is certainly in our hands.

Check out this little dude

Photos from February gaming meet

I went back to Kettering for the day yesterday to see the dweebs.

Ben won the first one in the last turn, Kris won at Tsuro, Ian one the infection game at the end. I won none. I would say Been probably won overall.

I shouldn't be allowed to use sharp knives

I hope they like their lamb rare (with added blood).

Went to see Adam Buxton last night

We were a little early so grabbed a bite to eat and watched a bit of skate boarding and bmxing. I got my wish and watched a live bit of attempted Darwinism. One chap stacked it. I don't think he was badly hurt, but it was funny.

Where have they gone?

1pm and 4pm. Have they another hole to dig?

It's back

Walkie talkie dead is back tonight.  Not sure what I prefer most.

Ne, ne, ne, ne, ne, ne, ne, ne Racletteman

Popped along to Tonbridge farmers market on Sunday morning. The raclette man was back.

Watching the rugby at the club

We beat Canterbury 56-3 on Saturday.  And that's after they got the first points on the board.  Brilliant result.  England's result was equally brilliant (if a little lucky in the end).  Last week the club was too busy to actually watch it in there so we ended up just bringing jugs of beer just back to the changing room and talking crap in there all night.

Anglesey holiday booked in for July

It's my dad's 70th birthday this year so we're (Steve + family, us two and my Dad) heading up to Rhosneigr for a week in July.

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Rhosneigr/@53.2295878,-4.526144,15z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x4865ac4f2a4d64c9:0x9aabfa251669ea62!8m2!3d53.228996!4d-4.519761

I've probably spent over a year of my life up there visting my now deseased grand parents over the years but will be good to see the old place.  It's all the way up in Anglesey and if we're picking my dad up along the way might take 6-7 hours to drive.  Perhaps we'll stop the night before doing the rest of the journey in the morning.

I'm most looking forward to crabbing on the crabbing rock.  I think the last time we did it my dad had the brainwave to get loads of fish ends from the local fish monger to place under the rock at low tide the day before.  We were pulling loads of the things the next day.

Nothing else booked this year so it might be nice to go somewhere semi local, semi soon to catch a little sun as it's going to be another long year.

Facebook cull

Just culled a load of friends from facebook.

It would be quite Cathartic if I was a Catholic.  If you're desperate, feel free to request an add, but if you've not been materially in touch with me for a couple of years then I doubt we're close friends any more.  And if we're not close friends then you shouldn't really have access to what I get up to.  Although thinking about this in a bit more detail it would drop me down to about 30 people.

I did have over 500 facebook friends at one point.  But that was only so that I could win a bet with my brother.

I've added a fair few more over the years but have now dropped things down to a nice 100.  Again, very sorry if i've offended you (nobody that reads this blog I think), but tough titty.

2 episodes of the walking dead to rewatch

It was certainly hard at times, especially the first episode of season 7 but it's worth it.  I'm often criticised by April for never knowing the names of most of the peripheral characters in half of the shows I watch so now am pretty sure I know most of them...  Although i'm not volunteering to go on Mastermind any time soon.

The second half of the new season starts on Monday night.  Fingers crossed for a little retaliation after the turmoils of the last set.

Second games night

First blood goes to me- Tsuro
Best word length goes to me but unfortunately that's not the point of Bananagrames.  Dismal last place.

The red team (my team) won 3 games to 0 at Codenames: Pictures

Good idea?

I've rewatched 90% of the walking dead over the past few weeks in preparation for the second half of the new season, the majority of which during the last few days. I do think it's great but I also don't think it's particularly healthy.  I might need a thorough cleanse afterwards. Perhaps by watching reruns of last of the summer wine.

What a game

Round a friend's house for the Super Bowl last night.  What a game! 28-3 down then to pull it back for a draw then to get another touch down on the first drive. Amazing.

Introduced to the very healthy American delicacy that is nacho salad...

Taking my mini raclette cooking to the xtream

Mini never-ending story dragon spotted

Doing some bird

The cats had their annual check up on Saturday. All good considering.

I made my own Tom Yum soup a for lunch today

And it was largely a success.  A tweak here or there and I think I could pretty much have it nailed.

New Kickstarter arrived

Instructions are annoyingly online.

Poker night

It's been about 10 years since my last post night. I think I was living in Clapham. £20 stakes with blinds raising after 20 min intervals.

£100 pot.

I came 3rd, as in 3rd to go out.

Good but of fun though.

Heated clothing

Saw this guy on my commute last week. I wondered what the led was so Googled it.

Heated clothing.

Stuartini Clarketti FM17 3

After a hectic Christmas and busy January transfer market Portsmouth pushed on for the remainder of the season finishing on a record 105 points 10 points clear of their nearest rivals.  Talented manager Clarketti won the Manager of the Year award and was pleased to sign an extension to his contract and help steer Portsmouth to back to a higher standing in English football.

One of the most memorable stories that stuck out in the 16 / 17 season was the embarrassing 5-0 loss to Chelsea under 23s in the Checkatrade Trophy.  Although perhaps unfairly as the Chelsea team did sport a couple of their aging first team.  After the result the clubs players showed their appreciation to the many travelling Portsmouth fans by offering to pay for their match day tickets at Stamford Bridge.

After a series of poor results and in only a little over 3 months in charge new manager Marcelo Biesla was given the chop. Quite unlike the Liverpool board of old.  With no time to make many changes incoming manager Roberto Manchini only managed to finish 11th

After 19 League 2 games Portsmouth are still top which a large goal difference (nearly 1 goal per game) separating them from 2nd place Cheltenham.

The biggest shock of the season is the fact that Liverpool had sacked their popular manager Jurgen Klopp before Christmas.
