Dad's 70th holiday in Rhosneigr

Here are some photos from Rhosneigr.  The sea was nice and fresh, we even went in one day without the wetsuits.  It was bloody cold but as long as you were moving about fine...

Stopped off to see some monkeys on the way to Rhosneigr

We stopped off at the Monkey Forest (somewhere near stoke) on the way up to our holiday in Rhosneigr, Anglesey.  It was great.

A little shut eye

Saw this chap on the train to work a few weeks back.  Dear me, does he have no shame?

Living on the edge

With the temperature being fairly hot these past few weeks we've taken to leaving a few windows open during the day and night.  Here's Poppet sitting on the window ledge last night.  Bloody cat.

Nursery prep is going well

I ripped out the carpet and underlay from first spare room on Saturday then helped / hindered April in painting what will be our nursery. Still a bit to do till we're finished but we've certainly broken the back of it.

We had a carpeter round this morning to measure up and am not too disheartened by the quote.

We also managed to fit in a trip to Bluewater John Lewis on Sunday too.  Shaheen recommended it, it's basically like sorting out a wedding gift list but for babies.  We got to test drive a few pram / buggies, thankfully my Mum has paid for the majority of that.  It took 2 hours but was worth it, especially about finding more out about car seats.  Who knew?

Only 2.5 days and 12.5 weeks to go

One of those i'm excited about, the other i'm terrified.

More old films watched this week

The Naked Gun trilogy.  Brilliant!

There are some pretty lame gags in them but not to worry, there will be a decent one just coming round the corner.

Saphie is a mini celeb in Tonbridge

I see Saphie the station cat about 1/3 trips home.  I don't think she really wants to get a stoke from me but tough.

My fortune

I popped into a restaurant in China town on Wednesday after the boozeathon.  It was very nice, and much needed.

Let's hope I recognise  when this opportunity arises.

Afternoon o'booze

Afternoon o'booze with some ex work colleagues.  Good fun.  Bowling in Bloomsbury followed by more booze.

Fancy car outside Lloyd's the other day

There was a band there too.  Didn't hang around to hear them though.

Good films you may have forgotten

I rewatched Hellboy 1 and 2 last week and they're still surprisingly good.

They're pretty funny, special effects are solid and the plot isn't completely insane given the subject matter.

I'd give them both scores in the low 7s.

Lions game then back to the rugby club for the beer festival

Saturday was mostly spent drinking.

8am start watching the Lions game in my shed then back to the Tonbridge beer festival at the rugby club.

Beer then Madness

Tonbridge beer festival followed by a Madness tribute act in the castle grounds.

Coming on strong

I might not be able to keep the weeds off my lawn but my chilli plant is coming on strong.  I think i've had it for over 3 years now and it's now started to produce again.  Last year it only made about 3 or 4, This year there's at least 10 on there.

World Cup moved to Morocco

I was experimenting in football manager the other day where I started as unemployed and just went on holiday for 6 months at time (I wish) and then taking a look at which teams finished where and who they bought and sold.

Interestingly Morocco took over the 2022 World Cup.

Nearly have a complete set of these

Only the Scannels and Mrs Lamb to go

Back in their natural habitat

As good as new after a little bit of eye surgery.

Now back in their natural habitat

The rematch

Challenged to a re-run in the pub later that evening.  I now have a very sore toe where I smashed it into a garden fence whilst trying to stop.

Director of games

The inaugural Tonbridge Jamboree was a overwhelming success.  In all we had 3- people turn up plus 4 dogs.

Here are some photos.

Organised fun without keeping score?  I don't think so.

A nice surprise, the guys gave me this t-shirt!

One of my friends works at a primary school, she brought along the Olympic flame they used in 2012.

Men's 30m sprint

Was there ever a doubt who would win?

The gang!

Roll on 2018.
