I thought this story was about a different Lordi

Surely we have better things to do...

Urgh!

I'm sure I have better things to do but I now have a 2h meeting brainstorming for an away day next month.

What a lazy twat

I know recycling can be a pain but it's not when the options are all there right in front of you.

The blue bin on the left is for glass only.  It clearly states, please don't put broken crockery in there.  Not only that' there are plastic cups and non recyclable waste in there too.  FFS.  It's almost as if they've gone out of their way to place everything they have in the wrong bins.  Therefore none of which can be recycled!

This looks safe

And I do not envy the poor chap who has to untangle it all when it inevitably goes wrong.

I tweeted network rail and to their credit have actually responded to me.

Testing, 1-2, 1-2

Florence really enjoys her new toy.

Cool glass

Another monster of a building has popped up near my work.  I've started to use a different lift in the office so have only just seen it.  The glass has a nice blue and green tint.  I wonder what name they will come up with for it.

Lucky escape

I had the dweebs down on Saturday so we went for a few beers in town.  We started in Fuggles, moved onto the Man of Kent before ending up in Chequers.  Luckily I decided to call it a day before a song was chosen to sing on the Karaoke!

Australia Day film night

Last Friday was Australia day so April put on a film night to show our Tonbridge friends the classic Australian film the Castle.  It was such a success that we ended up watching Office Space straight afterwards.

We might even do an Oscar night.  March 4th if you're interested.

Mmm, good reading material for the train

The lady next to me on the train last night was really into her bible studies.  Taking notes on the circumcision of Jesus.  Nice.

I'm going to get caught one of these days.

Doh!

Saw this chap on the train this morning, I think he'd just realised that he'd forgotten to do his hair that morning.

Same old, same old

We had an office move on Friday afternoon, down from the 10th to the 9th floor.  We even had to do the move ourselves.  We were told this was due to cost savings (£1200), however if you add up the two hours+ each it took each of the 30 actuaries to do this then the sum surely cost more.

I was given a fairly sh!t seat in the office move (lots of people walk past my desk) but in reality it's pretty good.  The other rows are crammed right in with hardly room to walk through.  Ha.

Sunday baby photos

I'm afraid cat photos are taking a back burner now that I have a new muse.

Breakfast on Sunday

April popped out on Sunday with Florence so I had to make my own breakfast.

Nice and simple, nice and tasty.

Shit patrol

I went to the local pub on Saturday for a couple of beers, 20 mins in I was called back to give the cat a bath.  The poor thing had shat herself and left half of it on her.  April was looking after the baby so I was left to clear up the cat.

Not long left for poor Biscuit.  She's had a good 10 years with us though.

Mug shots

We were round friends on Friday night, here's some photos of their dog.

Thai followed by Chinese

And maybe a pint or two in between...

I thought i'd better feed myself before the boozing session so had a lovely Thai meal.  The evening was finished off with a Chinese.  Yum!

Sam smiths pub crawl yesterday

I was feeling a little rough this morning, but it was worth it!  Great laugh with the old Gallagher and Lloyd's friends yesterday.  Roll on the next one.

Bernard has been busy

My ex colleague Bernard bought this box, designed the graphics then got his sister to burn them into it.  Brilliant.

Annoyance level 5 achieved

We had a lovely time round our friends house on New Years Eve, so much so we decided to hide these little plastic men round their house at the end of the evening.

If you're wondering what they are, they're actually there to place on the rim of your drink so that everyone know's who's drink is who's.

Our poor friend has been asking for the past week or so where we'd all hidden them only to be given cryptic clues describing where.

The fun's not over just yet.  Watch this space...

Not sure what was going on next door

I popped outside on Sunday morning to deposit the present Florence had kindly made for me overnight to see a police car parked next door.

Yikes.  I wonder what it was there for?

Jamie Oliver meal 3

April bough me Jamie Oliver's new 5 ingredient cook book for Christmas and this is our 3rd meal (my first) cooked using it.

Lamb chops with orange, garlic and thyme

I cheated by adding a 6th ingredient of honey.

Yum.

Saturday night's car crash

Well, Saturday was entertaining...

It started off with a lovely steak dinner with Shaheen followed by a couple of drinks with my brother and Steve before the main even which was Chevy Chase

What can I say?  It was a car crash.

I wasn't sure what to expect, was he going to do stand up, was it a Q&A?  Nope, in the end it was an interview.  I'd seen similar things before so was excited to see who they'd get to interview that legend that is Chevy.

When the lights dimmed and the announcer announced Mike Read my heart sank.  Only for it to sink further when he channelled his inner Partridge during the interview.  It was terrible.  And the worst part of it was that it wasn't quite terrible enough for it to be funny terrible.

Chevy tried his best to answer the appalling questioning technique, Read had done the bare minimum amount of research on Chevy Chase that I can only imagine he was brought in at the last minute.

The best laugh of the night was when one audience member should out during one of the many awkward pauses.  "Mike Read, you're a twat".  I think that also go the biggest applause.

Urgh.  Oh well.  Kris, you did well ducking out of this one.

It's been rewritten now but this made me laugh.

They say you should never meet your heros

I doubt I will (although we did sit next to Doug Stanhope in a restaurant a couple of hours before his gig at the HA).  I will be one of the 3,500 people going to see Chevy Chase at the Hammersmith Apollo on Saturday.
It's my Christmas present to my brother Steve.

I'm meeting Shaheen at the Hawksmoor on Air Street for lunch before.  Should be good.  I might even pop into the Crobar for good luck.

Going through some old folders on my usb drive and found this

It's all of the entries in my boycott spreadsheet.  I especially like The Arbitrage (4th from bottom).

Worth a listen

I quite like it.

2nd proper physio session tonight

I've been recovering well according to the physio, with almost full movement (although it is still sore).  Hopefully tonight's session will allow me to do a bit more.  Just stretching seems very boring to me.

My Dad's done yoga for the past 30 years.  April for at least 5.  I don't think I have it in me.

I'm seeing the surgeon again tomorrow morning too, other than a routine check up (and insurance paying the £500 consultancy fee) don't think there's much point.

Just the 2-3 months recuperation. Then getting ready to play again in September.

It's finally coming to shape

The concrete space next to the Aon and Aviva buildings is finally coming together.  They're making a garden.  Very nice.  Or it will be until they knock down the Aviva building.  There's planning permision to knock it down and put up something pretty big in it's place.

Something to aspire to

I popped into a pub on the way back from the football last Thursday night and this was the wall of beer mats attached to the bar.  I need to add a lot to my bar / shed to compete with this.

I must try harder.

Nobody died

April had her first day without Florence at the weekend.  I'd bought her a days knitting class on Saturday as one of her many Christmas presents so I decided to take the baby away for the day / night.  I wasn't completely on my own as I went to my brothers but it wasn't a smooth sailing as i'd have hoped.
Flo has a bit of a cold so is not sleeping amazingly, that means I wasn't allowed to either.  My brother helped out for a good couple of hours which really helped but as last night was not much better I am certainly feeling it today.

At least nobody died.
